U.S. - Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement - How Arkansas Farmers Will Benefit PDF

The U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement (CTPA) provides increased access for Arkansas’s agricultural exports by making agricultural trade a two-way street and leveling the playing field with respect to third country competitors in the Colombian market. Already our largest market in South America, Colombia now holds even greater potential because it has agreed to immediately eliminate duties on 53 percent of current U.S. trade upon implementation of the agreement. The American Farm Bureau and over 40 other agricultural industry and farm groups strongly support the agreement by stating “the agreement will provide U.S. products exported to Colombia with the same duty-free access already granted to Colombian products exported to the U.S.”

The United States concluded free trade negotiations with Korea on April 1, 2007. The U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) is the most commercially significant free trade agreement the United States has negotiated in nearly 20 years.

 


 

U.S. - Panama Trade Promotion Agreement - How Arkansas Farmers Will Benefit PDF

The U.S.-Panama Trade Promotion Agreement eliminates tariffs and other barriers on most U.S. goods, increasing export opportunities for agricultural products important to Arkansas. With immediate elimination of duties on over 60 percent of current U.S. trade, this agreement changes the one-way street of duty-free access currently enjoyed by most Panamanian exports into a two-way street benefiting both countries. The American Farm Bureau strongly supports the agreement, predicting widespread gains for U.S. agriculture exceeding $190 million per year.

 


 

U.S. - Peru Trade Promotion Agreement - How Arkansas Farmers Will Benefit PDF

The U.S.-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement (PTPA) provides increased market access to Arkansas’ agricultural exports by making agricultural trade a two-way street and leveling the playing field with respect to third country competitors in the Peruvian market. With immediate elimination of duties on nearly 90 percent of current U.S. trade to Peru, the PTPA will provide Arkansas producers and exporters the opportunity not only to preserve but to increase market share in Peru. The American Farm Bureau and over 40 other agricultural industry and farm groups strongly support the agreement stating that the agreement would benefit all U.S. agricultural sectors and allow the United States to become a competitive supplier of agricultural products to Peru.
